A study of inpatients of the department of dermatology

Abstract
|
|
|
In this study all patients who admitted to the department of dermatology in Chonnam national University Hospital from Jan. 1, 1981 to Dec. 31, 1990.
The results obtained were as follows:
1. Among the 1,125 inpatients, the total numbers of male patient were 588 and the female patients were 537. The sex ratio of male to female was 1.90:1.
2. The most frequent age groups were 50 to 59 years. in monthly distribution, the peak incidence occured on July, and the lowest incidence on Feburary.
3. In seasonal distribution, the peak incidence occured on summer.
4. In residental distribution, the ratio of urban to country was 1.14:1.
5. The most common dermatoses were viral dermatoses (25.8%0, vascular disease(8.1%), dermatitis and eczema(5.4%), papulosquamous disease (4%) and connective tissue diseases(3.4%).
